Description
Note Labeling & Rhythm Development are not an “all or nothing” skills.
Any singer must be successful at both skills, prior to becoming an excellent sight singer.
When you see your singers struggling with sight singing, break apart the skills into: note labeling, rhythm labeling/performing, and aural training.
You will be receiving:
- Note-Labeling Rubric
- Rhythm Labeling/Performing Rubric
- Dozens of Sight Reading examples for labeling pitches and rhythms, courtesy of Sight Reading Factory (included with each rubric)
These two rubrics can be used independently or together
In addition to those two rubrics, there are 4 rubrics for training the ear. All 6 rubrics comprise the Sight-Singing Developmental Rubric.
The four aural training rubrics are:
- pitch-matching
- singing a scale in tune
- alternating solfege patterns
- aural training sheet

You will be surprised how quickly your singers will improve their sight-singing skills when they isolate their skills. Labeling pitches accurately is the first step, followed by increasing the speed of their labeling.
When it comes to rhythm labeling, it is first about accurate labeling, followed by the ability to perform the rhythm to a metronome.
This product will give you and your singers all the tools they need to master both skills!
